Oh how many hours I waste away on the phone! It seems I'm in meetings all day long everyday! The worse calls are when you can't even hear what's going on but you are still expected to participate. It's days like these that make me realize how ineffective we are at communicating even with all this technology around us.... and we wonder why we execute so poorly!

How Time Flys!
First off I have to say that I love Google Desktop. 2.0 has made it even more interesting with all the cool plugins! So what's that have to do with how time flys? Well, I have the photo plugin running and as it flashes through my pictures I see my little girl growing up.
It's amazing how much has happened in the 4 years that she's been here. We've bought a new house, traveled on vacation, gotten new animals (yes besides the kid :-O). We've done some home projects, been to weddings, funerals, parties, and more.
Life is short, enjoy what you have, or change if you don't like it. Time has wings and won't stand still just for you.

Disappointment?
Well it's Saturday, and my wallet is a little lighter then I like. Pocket A's and still knocked out. Last hand of the round, I get poket A's and decide to slow play them. All the way to the river, I go in and he calls me, highest card showing was a Queen. He has 2 pairs 10's and 4's. What rotten luck, guess I should've pushed him out earlier in the hand. Oh well, lessons learned.
Well there's always next time, and for what it's worth, I had a great time! I guess all in all I'm not disappointed. Heck anytime you can hang out with friends, have a few drinks, and tell a few jokes is a good time.

Just a random thought
If going up is perceived as going towards heaven and going down is perceived as going towards hell, then why don't we take the elevators down to go to work and up to go home?
Hmmm.... I'm probably going to hell any way. It's friday, I'm off to go drink, gamble, and be merry, you decide where I'm going.

Still Working
Yes it's Thursday, no it's not Friday, it's not Saturday, it's not Sunday, just Thursday. Every weekday we get up and go to work. Do we work to live or live to work? I realize it's a choice, as I'm still working, but I would love to have the financial freedom that comes with being rich. Hey I can dream..... For now I'll have to hope a game of chance (poker, lottery, something...) will set me free. Well until then, back to work.

1/2 way there
That's right, it's hump day! I'm a little more anxious then normal as I have a tournament Friday night. Guess game night will have to be put on hold until Saturday night. Yeah me and a few friends will be playing poker.
I have to admit, having the World Series Poker tour on all the time really helped me get up to speed on Texas Hold'em. Then again it helped everyone else too so am I really ahead? Well I'm going to but that question to the test on Friday. Hope my friends don't mind a little spanking at cards.... :-P
BTW, I had to turn on the word verification for comments, hope it's not too intrusive to any responses, but not sure what some of the comments are that I have received so far. Have a good day, and for heavens sake, get back to work! :-D

Patience
Patience.... What is that?
pa·tience ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pshns)n. 1. The capacity, quality, or fact of being patient
pa·tient ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pshnt)adj.
1. Bearing or enduring pain, difficulty, provocation, or annoyance with calmness.
2. Marked by or exhibiting calm endurance of pain, difficulty, provocation, or annoyance.
3. Tolerant; understanding: an unfailingly patient leader and guide.
4. Persevering; constant: With patient industry, she revived the failing business and made it thrive.
5. Capable of calmly awaiting an outcome or result; not hasty or impulsive.
6. Capable of bearing or enduring pain, difficulty, provocation, or annoyance.
So last night my 4 year daughter had a family project. Create a poster of your holiday traditions. Now I try not to be one of those parents who do all the work for their child and then have them sign their name; but when your own creativity is failing and your 4 yr olds idea is to just cut every piece of paper into small pieces you have to wonder where are your patience.
All in all, my wife and I bit our tonuge and in the end we had created a poster. It was fun to look back over her first 4 years and see the holiday's we had together. Hours of the night had drifted away, and a school project had given us all some quality time together. I guess in the end patience pays off.
